I Have A Solution For The NBA Lockout: Kill The WNBA

The NBA can be saved! Yes, you heard me. The NBA can be saved by shutting down the WNBA.

Now, before you call me a sexist, I have numbers and stats that will back up my claims.

The NBA averages about 1.6 million viewers, which is the highest the NBA, or anyone for that fact, has seen. The WNBA has seen some improvements, but they give away most of their tickets because they are unable to sell tickets before the actual game. Who wouldn’t pass up on free tickets to the WNBA? Oh, wait…

The WNBA is a joke. A lot of sports writers and sports fans would agree with me on that. There are several people who would disagree with me, but the world wouldn’t be that great if everyone agreed on everything, so to each their own.

Now, the NBA is going through a lot of hardships (I hope you sensed the sarcasm. If not, I feel sorry for you). NBA Commissioner, David Stern, asked for “bailout” money back in 2009 and he was granted $200 million dollars from JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America. But, compared to the WNBA, the NBA is more entertaining. Who wants to watch a two-hour game of basketball with nothing but layups, jump shots and passing.

Compared to the WNBA’s attendance in 2011, the NBA’s attendance in 2011 was staggering. The top 5 teams were:
