Congrats Are In Order!


I would like to take this time to congratulate Dodgers Pitcher, Clayton Kershaw, for winning the NL Cy Young.

Also, congratulations to Tigers Pitcher, Justin Verlander, for winning the AL Cy Young award.



Both fellows deserved this high honor.

Backstory on the Cy Young Award:
  • The award is named after Hall of Fame pitcher, Cy Young.
  • Cy Young  holds the record for most innings pitched (7,355).
  • It's the highest honor given to the best pitchers in MLB. There is one winner in the American League and one winner in the National League.
  • Only pitchers win this award.
  • The award was first introduced in 1956 by then Commissioner, Ford Frick.
  • The winner is voted on by the members of the Baseball Writers Association of America.
